What is genioplasty?
The term genioplasty refers to any type of surgery on the chin. The type you need will depend on your specific condition. The most common chin procedures include
- Chin Augmentation. If you have a receding chin, a chin augmentation procedure can be performed. By making a small incision inside the lower lip or under the chin, Dr. Iero can place implants (usually made of silicone). - Chin Reduction/Repositioning. When you have a protruding chin, Dr. Iero can reduce the appearance by removing excess bone.
