How does laser resurfacing work?
Laser skin resurfacing is one of the most innovative techniques for reducing the effects of aging. It can significantly improve your facial appearance, especially around the mouth and eyes. The UltraPulse CO2 laser is stronger and can penetrate the skin deeper than any other CO2 laser. There are several different modes, including
- DeepFX™ and ActiveFX™ modes, which remove the top layer of skin using high-energy beams of light, revealing the healthier, smoother, and younger-looking layer of skin underneath
- SCAAR FX™ mode, which is ideal for treating conditions that are thick or deep in the skin
Your skin will begin shedding around three to five days after you’ve received your laser treatment. This will not cause any discomfort, though the skin underneath may appear pink for up to two weeks. Many patients are happy with their cosmetic results after one laser treatment. In cases of more severe wrinkles or deep acne scars, you may require multiple appointments.
